At the regularly scheduled July 14 Town Board meeting, the Board considered and unanimously adopted a resolution authorizing the Town Planner to begin to research the requirements and steps of incorporating as a village.
The resolution also directs the Town Planner to gather citizen feedback on incorporation as a village from residents and businesses as part of the process so the Board can learn citizen views on pursuing incorporation.
On a variety of past occasions the Town Board has discussed options - including incorporation - that would ensure its right to determine its own destiny as a community. It is important for the Board to consider options that will allow it to plan decades ahead and protect the best interests of the Town's citizens.
The Town Planner provided an update on his research on incorporation at the Sept. 1 Town Board meeting.
