Emergency No Wake on Lower & Middle Genesee Lakes
The Town of Summit Board adopted an Emergency Slow-No-Wake Ordinance on April 29, 2008 to be effective immediately on Lower and Middle Genesee Lakes. Due to the seasonal melting and rainy conditions, the ground is saturated with water and the lakes are over their capacity.
With the upcoming opening fishing weekend bound to bring increased boat traffic, the Town felt it necessary to enact this ordinance to protect the property owners as well as the Town roads that surround these two lakes. The ordinance will be posted at the boat launches and the Police Department will be strictly enforcing this ordinance.
The slow-no-wake will be in effect until the waters recede and the Town Board and Police Department feel it is no longer detrimental to the surrounding properties.
